Our Dear Rainforest Guardians,

I’m excited to share our 2025 Impact Report with you!

Here are a few highlights from 2025:

  • Expanded the wildlife corridor by 66.49 hectares through the purchase of five former cattle farms, bringing the total protected area to 235 hectares (581) acres.
  • Constructed a permanent solar powered Main Ranger and Research Station, a critical investment in long term forest protection, research, and monitoring.
  • 1,175 native trees representing 12 species were planted and have successfully taken root. Every tree was grown in our nurseries from seeds collected by our forest guardians during patrols.
  • Prevented illegal gold mining entirely within the 616 hectare brazil nut concession, reflecting the effectiveness of boundary signage, patrol trail creation, and a consistent on the ground Forest Guardian presence

Some Sad News to Report

We recently received a devastating reminder of why our work is so urgent.

I am heartbroken to share that two jaguars recently lost their lives near our wildlife corridor.

A neighbouring cattle rancher put poison in the carcass of a cow killed by a jaguar. The result? One jaguar died after feeding on the poison-laced carcass. A second jaguar, drawn to the same carcass, was shot and killed.

Our Wildlife Corridor is so Important

Every parcel of land we protect helps create safer passage for jaguars and other wildlife. It reduces the risk of human-wildlife conflict  and gives these animals a better chance of survival. Protecting habitat is not only about conserving land. It is about preventing tragedies like this from happening again

The valley we are protecting is divided into many small parcels owned by many cattle ranchers. So far, we have secured 14 farms totalling 235 hectares. Our long-term goal is to protect another 1,080 hectares. It is slow, difficult work. But piece by piece, hectare by hectare, we are stitching this corridor together.

Today, I am asking for your help. We are raising funds to acquire the neighbouring 40.7-hectare parcel of land where this tragic event occurred.

Will you help us expand our wildlife corridor?

With gratitude,

Jana
