Before I share today’s exciting news, here’s a quick update on Day 5 of the Ma Earth Funding Contest.

So far, we’ve received 42 donations and raised $2,101.

We’re currently sitting in the middle of the pack among the 200 participating organizations. Ma Earth recently announced that it has expanded the contest by adding another 100 organizations and has increased the matching fund to US$1 million.

At the moment, the top-ranked organization has 185 donors and has raised $10,047. We still have plenty of time to climb the leaderboard—the contest runs until July 21. Remember, because of Ma Earth’s unique funding model, every new donor helps increase our share of the matching funds.

A Note for Our Canadian Donors

Several people have asked whether they’ll receive a charitable tax receipt.

Although donations are made through the Ma Earth platform (which, by the way, does not take a percentage of your donation), every gift is processed through Amazon Rainforest Conservancy’s Stripe account. Once the contest concludes, I will issue official Canadian charitable tax receipts to all eligible Canadian donors.

And Now for the Exciting News…

One of ARC’s generous supporters contacted me last night with an incredible offer.

In addition to the funding available through the Ma Earth Funding Contest, he has pledged to match every donation dollar for dollar, up to CDN $30,000.

That means every dollar you donate during this campaign could have twice the impact, while also helping us earn additional matching funds through Ma Earth.

This is an extraordinary opportunity to make your gift go even further, and I couldn’t be more grateful for this generous commitment.

If you’ve been thinking about making a donation, now is the perfect time. Together, we can climb the rankings, earn a larger share of Ma Earth’s matching fund, and double the impact of every donation.
