Our Dear Rainforest Protectors,
As we are about to enter into a new year, we wanted to take a moment and thank you for your support in 2021.
Thanks to your generosity, we were able to partner with the Asociación para la Conservación de la Cuenca Amazónica (ACCA), a Peruvian non-profit organization, to protect The Los Amigos Conservation Concession (LACC) a 146,000 hectares (360,000 acres) of pristine old-growth rainforest in the lower Amazon basin.
ARC Wild Protectors worked alongside ACCA’s Promotores de Conservación to patrol and protect this vital wilderness from the threats of illegal logging, gold mining, road development and poachers. In addition to river and foot patrols, drone and high-resolution satellite monitoring alerted the Forest Rangers to illegal activities occurring within the concession and allowed for prompt interventions.
As our work continues in 2022, we sincerely hope that you will stay involved on this journey with us and continue to support our Lower Amazon Basin Project at LACC. Our mission continues because of your generosity.
Simply put, without supporters like you, we would not exist.
From all of us here at Amazon Rainforest Conservancy, thank you for standing with us to protect and defend the Amazon rainforest as one of the most meaningful investments we can make for future generations.
The ARC Team.
Please note that we have to be careful how we show our Forest Rangers so as not to put them in danger.
